Hi, I’m Elaine!

I am a student therapist currently completing my Master of Counselling degree at City University as I work toward becoming a Professional Counsellor.

My journey to become a counsellor has been shaped by both personal and professional experiences. Through my own counselling over the years, I experienced the value of having a space where I felt heard, understood, and supported. This deepened my appreciation for the therapeutic relationship and the meaningful impact of walking alongside someone through the ups and downs of life.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of industries, including early childhood education, hospitality, and technology, and have experienced the challenges of career transition and burnout in the workplace.

After a few years of working in high-stress corporate roles, I landed at a non-profit, which ultimately changed my career trajectory and led me here. I had the privilege of working with individuals and families who were impacted by life-threatening illness. I witnessed how adversity can affect not only individuals but entire family systems, relationships, and identities. I was inspired by the strength people found through connection, community, and compassionate spaces where their stories could be heard. This work led me to pursue counselling so I could support individuals navigating various life challenges, changes, and transitions.

Becoming a mother has also shaped who I am and has given me a deeper appreciation for the many emotions and changes that come with parenthood, including the joys, challenges, identity shifts, and experiences of the postpartum period. Because of this recent transition, I feel that I can empathize strongly with new parents.

My hope is to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are. I believe each person is the expert in their own life, and I view therapy as a collaborative process where we can explore your experiences, strengths, and goals together.

I recognize that our identities, cultures, relationships, and lived experiences shape who we are. I strive to approach each person with curiosity, humility, and respect for their unique story. My approach is person-centred and informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches, which I tailor to your individual needs and goals.

Outside of counselling, you’ll often find me spending time with my family, staying active, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or chasing after my adventurous toddler.
Whether you’re navigating a difficult season, adjusting to a new chapter, or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself, I would be honoured to work with you.

Discover how you can improve your overall well-being.
