Interesting Facts About Me
I love spontaneous day trips to the ocean and often return to Vancouver Island to rest and
reconnect.
Cold plunges are one of my favourite ways to reset and feel grounded.
I enjoy painting and creating art in nature, often bringing my watercolor set along with me.
I’m also a sports fan and enjoy the energy of live games and shared experiences.
Hello, I’m Tayler, and I use she/her pronouns. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with
the BCACC. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle
in Canada.
I grew up primarily in Alberta and later in the Lower Mainland, BC, in a military family.
Navigating those dynamics shaped my understanding of relationships, resilience, and support,
and led me to begin counselling early in life.
I bring over a decade of experience working as an Educational Assistant, supporting
neurodiverse individuals and addressing accessibility needs in and outside of the school system. I
also have extensive experience in victim services, where I supported survivors of domestic and
sexual violence, offering emotional support and guidance through complex systems when
needed.
My work in advocacy and policy focused on reducing barriers and improving accessibility for
survivors. Through local, federal, and international consent-based initiatives, I developed a
strong foundation in social justice and trauma-informed care. These experiences led me to
counselling, where I value building meaningful, long-term connections with clients.
My areas of interest include body image, healing from gender-based violence, and exploring
sexual motivation, desire, and function. I also draw on my background in working with
individuals with disabilities to support resilience and empowerment.
My work is grounded in values of social justice, LGBTQIA2S+ inclusion, feminism,
accessibility, equity, and ongoing learning around decolonization.
My approach is trauma-informed and integrative. I draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy,
somatic and experiential approaches, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside
mindfulness and psychoeducation to support emotional processing, nervous system regulation,
and lasting change.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to the work and strive to create a safe, supportive
space where clients can explore their experiences and move toward healing.
I believe in each person’s capacity for growth and feel honoured to be part of that process.
